Grand Prix stars Tomasz Gollob and Jaroslaw Hampel are both nominated for the Rider of the Year prize at the Enea Speedway Gala in Warsaw on February 24.

The duo are up against World Under-21 champion Maciej Janowski and their international team mate Piotr Protasiewicz for the gong, which will be decided by text message voting in Poland.

Janowski is also nominated for the junior of the year prize along with Pawlicki brothers Przemyslaw and Piotr and Zielona Gora young gun Patryk Dudek.

The FIM Enea Torun SGP of Poland last August is in the running to be crowned Event of the Year. It faces still competition from the FIM Speedway World Cup Final at Gorzow in July and the blockbuster challenge match between Poland and the Rest of the World in October, which was staged at Torun’s Marian Rose Motoarena.

The SWC-winning Polish national side are in the running for team of the year after landing their third gold medal in as many years.

They must fend off Ekstraliga champions Zielona Gora, runners-up Leszno and First Division winners Bydgoszcz in the battle for the prize.

Polish national team boss Marek Cieslak is up for coach of the year after leading Zielona Gora to Ekstraliga gold. He faces competition from Gorzow chief Piotr Paluch, Piotr Baron from Wroclaw and Leszno team manager Roman Jankowski.
