WOFFY CHASING SWEDISH RIDES

Team GB racer Tai Woffinden was pleased to put himself in contention for a starting berth at new Swedish club Dackarna with a stellar display in the FIM Monster Energy SWC Race Off last Thursday.

The 21-year-old bagged 14 points on the Malilla club’s home circuit, but was unable to prevent the Lions from crashing out of the tournament as they finished third behind Denmark and Poland.

Woffinden was dejected not to take his country into the FIM Monster Energy SWC Final.

But having penned a deal with Dackarna prior to the World Cup following Scott Nicholls’ move to Vargarna, Woffy certainly did his Elitserien career prospects no harm.

"I want to race in Sweden and now I am back with a really good club. I’m pumped for that."

He said: “I want to race in Sweden and now I am back with a really good club. I’m pumped for that.

“I’m quite pleased with my performance. I guess it could have been better in a few heats, but I put in 100 percent.

“I’m spewing that we didn’t win – I’m gutted. But that’s racing. We all tried to help each other out as much as we could; it just didn’t happen in the end.

“All the boys gave it 110 percent. I’m proud of them and we all have our off days. You can’t win them all.

“I hope nobody is disheartened from it and we had great backing from the British fans. That has been amazing.”
