MJJ SEEKS SLOVENIAN SPUR

Danish star Michael Jepsen Jensen hopes to take charge at the top of the FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship at Slovenian track Lendava tonight.
The FIM Monster Energy Speedway World Cup winner triumphed in the opening round at Lonigo on July 21 after winning a run-off with Polish star Przemyslaw Pawlicki.
The duo are tied on 12 points and start the second round of seven joint top of the standings.
But they face some fierce competition from defending champion Maciej Janowski, Danish international Mikkel B Jensen and Gorzow SGP bronze medallist Bartosz Zmarzlik who are all on 11.
Polish Under-21 champion Piotr Pawlicki, and Denmark’s Mikkel Michelsen and Nicolaj-Busk Jakobsen are all on nine. Jakobsen qualified as a series reserve and covers for British rider Richie Worrall, who remains sidelined with a broken leg.
Patryk Dudek and Australia’s Sam Masters return after missing round one through injury. Slovenian rider Matic Ivacic and Croatian youngster Dino Kovacic are the two wild cards.
