Sunday 5th August 2012, 12:22
FIM Fogo Italian SGP wild card Nicolas Covatti is on his way to Birmingham, according to a website in his native Argentina.
The 24-year-old, who makes his World Championship debut at Terenzano on Saturday, impressed in the SGP qualification semi-final at Lonigo on June 30, scoring nine points and falling just two short of a place in the GP Challenge.
"Armando Castagna completed the final details today (Saturday) and I received message from the owner of the club welcoming me to the Brummies."

The Brummies are said to be seeking a replacement for the injured Tomasz Piszcz, who suffered concussion and neck pains after crashing in his side’s home meeting with Belle Vue on July 26.
The Polish rider is on a three-point average and Covatti would start on 4.00 assessed figure as he is yet to appear in British speedway.
So it is unclear how he would fit into the Birmingham team, but the rider reportedly claimed he has concluded a deal with the Perry Barr outfit.
He told speedwaytotal.com.ar: "Armando Castagna completed the final details today (Saturday) and I received message from the owner of the club welcoming me to the Brummies.”
Total Speedway reports that Covatti will make his club debut on Thursday, August 16, when the Brummies host Coventry.
