BRUM CONFIRM COVATTI INTEREST

Sunday 5th August 2012, 12:36
Birmingham have confirmed they are in advanced negotiations to sign FIM Fogo Italian SGP wild card Nicolas Covatti.
Club bosses have held productive talks with Covatti and his manager Armando Castagna and, subject to the paperwork being completed, the 24-year-old is set to make his Perry Barr debut against Coventry on August 16.
"Nicolas is a rider who we’ve had our eye on for a while."

Birmingham co-promoter Graham Drury said: “Nicolas is a rider who we’ve had our eye on for a while after Phil Morris came across him during his continental travels whilst working with the GB set-up.
“Phil rates him highly, we discussed it together and we also had a recommendation from Ben Barker after the recent Grand Prix qualifier, so he’s definitely someone we’re keen to bring in.
“It’s a little premature to say we’ve signed him because there are still some formalities to go through, as is always the case when you bring in a new rider.
“But all being well, we should be able to confirm everything in the next few days, although he won’t make his debut for us until after the Italian Grand Prix next weekend.”
