Russian racer Emil Sayfutdinov says he and his team will leave no stone unturned as they battle furiously to reach their first SGP final of 2012 at Terenzano this evening.

The 22-year-old is seventh in the World Championship on 65 points and hasn’t scored less than seven in any of his SGP rounds.

But going into the FIM Fogo Italian SGP, the Salavat-born racer is still waiting for his first appearance in the last four this term.

"I want to go up the standings and we’re doing everything to go up. I think I have a chance."

While his current championship position would be enough to secure Sayfutdinov another crack at the SGP title next year, the rider remains keen to pick up some prizes in 2012.

The Bydgoszcz favourite, who scored seven points in the Croatian SGP at Gorican last time out, said: “All my team and me, of course, are working very hard to get some more points and we’ll see what happens.

“In Gorican I had a little bit of a problem at the beginning and had four third places, but my last heat was good. I won. I think tonight will be different and the beginning of the meeting will be as I want it to be.

“I want to go up the standings and we’re doing everything to go up. I think I have a chance. Sometimes I’m riding well and sometimes I have problems, but I think tonight will be different. Of course I need luck, but I must work as well.”
