RIO ROCKET ON FIRE

Tuesday 14th August 2012, 21:29
FIM Fogo Italian SGP winner Antonio Lindback followed up his Terenzano triumph by bagging a superb 16 points for Indianerna in Malilla on Tuesday night.
But the Rio Rocket’s seven-ride salvo failed to save his side from a 49-41 loss against Dackarna, who were inspired by an 11 paid 12-point haul from Swedish international Freddie Lindgren.
World Under-21 finalist Patryk Dudek backed him up on 10 paid 12, while Britain’s Tai Woffinden tallied nine paid 10 at reserve. SGP rider Andreas Jonsson collected six paid seven.
Polish star Piotr Protasiewicz gave Lindback plenty of back-up for the Indians on 13 paid 14, but Kenneth Bjerre bagged just four at reserve, while Hans Andersen tallied only two. The visitors badly missed injured talisman Niels-Kristian Iversen.
Elsewhere, Nicki Pedersen piled up 13 paid 14 points for Vargarna as they moved off the bottom of the Elitserien with a 49-41 victory over Valsarna, who replace them at the foot of the table.
Grand Prix regular Bjarne Pedersen managed just two for the home side as they were given a real run for their money by inspired Polish rider Tomasz Gapinski, who racked up an astonishing 19 from seven.
Only a third place behind Kim Nilsson and Nicki Pedersen in heat one denied him a 21-point maximum. Krzysztof Kasprzak collected 10 paid 11 from seven for the Rollers.
Aussie champion Chris Holder top-scored on 10 paid 12 for Piraterna as they kept up the pressure on leaders Vetlanda by clinging on to beat them 46-44 in Motala.
Holder got between Martin Vaculik and compatriot Jason Crump in heat 15 to seal two points for the Pirates. Polish Under-21 champion Piotr Pawlicki added 10 paid 11, while Greg Hancock and Linus Sundstrom accrued six paid seven apiece.
Vaculik led the Vetlanda charge on 11 paid 12, while Crump accrued nine paid 10. Leon Madsen notched a straight nine and Emil Sayfutdinov and Janusz Kolodziej contributed six paid seven each.
Polish international Adrian Miedzinski scorched to a 15-point full house for Hammarby as they vanquished Vastervik 60-30 in Stockholm.
Grzegorz Walasek bagged 11 paid 13, while 2010 world champion Tomasz Gollob weighed in with 11 of his own.
Vastervik struggled badly without Chris Harris, who suffered a concussion in a crash while racing for Coventry at Wolverhampton on Monday night. Mikael Max led them on nine paid 10, while Peter Ljung scored seven paid eight.
