Swedish star Andreas Jonsson will make his track return in Motala on Wednesday night, according to Dackarna coach Jerker Eriksson.

The world No.2 crashed hard in heat five of the FIM Scandinavian SGP in Malilla on September 8, withdrew from the meeting and has been sidelined since with a neck injury.

Jonsson is not listed in the Zielona Gora side which travels to Gorzow on Sunday for their Polish Ekstraliga play-off semi-final, second leg.

But Eriksson says the rider hopes to practice at his Allsvenskan track Rospiggarna over the weekend, before making his comeback in Dackarna’s Elitserien play-off semi-final, second leg trip to Piraterna.

If he comes through practice and the meeting without any problems, he would be set to appear in the FIM Dansk Metal Nordic SGP in Vojens next Saturday.

Eriksson told vimmerbytidning.se: “I was talking to Andreas on Wednesday and he feels much better. When he turns quickly, he does not feel quite right. But for the meeting on Wednesday, it must be right.

“He has had the go-ahead. The only thing that can change that is if there is a setback. He will try to practice in Hallstavik this weekend.”
