RIO ROCKET STILL SOARING

Antonio Lindback won’t settle for eighth in the World Championship as he bids to continue his march up the standings in the FIM Dansk Metal Nordic SGP in Vojens on Saturday.
The FIM Fogo Italian SGP winner has reeled off three straight rostrum finishes to go from 10th in the standings and 16 points adrift of the top eight to eighth and 15 clear of ninth-placed Andreas Jonsson with two rounds to race.
Lindback could now secure automatic qualification for the first time in his career and has never looked in better form. But the Rio Rocket has no intention of easing off the gas and wants to climb even higher up the World Championship ladder.
"The next goal is to take one more place and we will see what happens. I don’t want to stop now. I want to keep going."

Lindback, who is eight points behind compatriot Freddie Lindgren in seventh, said: “I’m really happy with three finals in a row.
“It’s good and I’ve taken eighth place – now we’ll just keep going. The next goal is to take one more place and we will see what happens. I don’t want to stop now. I want to keep going.
“Of course it will be tough to come up one more place, but I can still take some points and do well.”
Since his earliest days in the sport, Lindback has been tipped as a future world champion. Until his recent purple patch, some feared the 27-year-old would never fulfil this potential.
But on current form, the Gniezno man, who helped the Polish side earn promotion to the Ekstraliga on Sunday, could make an assault on the sport’s biggest prize in 2013.
“We’ll take that goal for next year …” said the Indianerna man, who hopes to lead the Kumla club into the Swedish Elitserien play-off final when they travel to Vetlanda tonight.
