LAMBERT LANDS MASARNA DEAL

Great Britain international Robert Lambert makes his Swedish Elitserien debut with newly-promoted Masarna in 2016.

Great Britain international Robert Lambert makes his Swedish Elitserien debut with newly-promoted Masarna in 2016.

The Norfolk teenager exploded on to the international stage this summer, impressing for the Lions in their Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup rounds at King’s Lynn and Vojens.

This earned him a meeting with Masarna in the Allsvenskan League this year, and they’ve wasted no time in bringing him back for a full season in the tough Elitserien.

Lambert links up with the likes of former world No.2 Krzysztof Kasprzak, Przemyslaw Pawlicki, Adrian Miedzinski, Leon Madsen, Linus Sundstrom and Kim Nilsson.

Sports director Robert Uppgard says Lambert was a man in demand after racing against Valsarna this year. He told Speedwaynyheter.se: “Many in Avesta almost demanded that we sign a contract with Lambert. We agreed it a few weeks, and have finally got a signed contract.”

Lambert is only the second British rider to have agreed an Elitserien deal, with world champ Tai Woffinden representing champions Vetlanda.
