SGP Five Facts brings you five things you may not know about the FIM Speedway Grand Prix stars of 2017. Today it’s Bartosz Zmarzlik.

1. The Gorzow icon announced his arrival on the world stage by becoming the youngest ever FIM Speedway Grand Prix winner at 19 years and 140 days of age, when he won the Gorzow SGP of Poland on August 30, 2014.

2. It wasn’t long before he earned a full-time place in the SGP series. Zmarzlik won the 2015 GP Challenge at Polish track Rybnik to seal his spot for 2016 and went on to win World Championship bronze last year.

3. Zmarzlik’s consistency in the SGP series has been staggering. In just 16 appearances, he has reached eight finals – a fantastic 50 percent!

4. He has piled up 181 points in just 96 SGP heats, giving him a points average of 11.31 in the series.

5. Zmarzlik has had no shortage of success on the world stage away from the SGP series. He won his first Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup gold medal with Poland last summer. He’s also the 2015 World Under-21 champion and has three FIM Team Speedway Under-21 world titles to his name.
