TWO YEARS FOR EMIL AT LESZNO

Russian racer Emil Sayfutdinov has penned a new two-year deal with Leszno as the Polish Ekstraliga champions reveal their 2018 squad.

Russian racer Emil Sayfutdinov has penned a new two-year deal with Leszno as the Polish Ekstraliga champions reveal their 2018 squad.

Sayfutdinov was confirmed as part of the Bulls side along with former world No.2 Jaroslaw Hampel and local hero Piotr Pawlicki, who captains the team.

Former Australian champion Brady Kurtz is set for his first full season in the Ekstraliga after making his top-flight debut with Rybnik halfway through this year. And as one of only two foreigners in the squad and three permitted in the starting line-up, he looks set for a one-to-seven berth.

Despite hometown team Tarnow’s return to the top flight, Janusz Kolodziej remains at the Alfred Smoczyk Stadium.

The Bulls also have plenty in reserve with World Under-21 Championship runner-up Bartosz Smektala and Dominik Kubera both racing as juniors and likely to put Leszno among the frontrunners again.

Sayfutdinov admits it’s the first time in a long time he has agreed a deal longer than a single season as he makes himself at home in Leszno.

He told his Facebook page: “For the first time since my first contract in Poland, I decided to sign a contract for more than one season.

“At Leszno it feels very good and I don't want to change anything ... I hope the next two seasons will be just as fruitful as the previous one.”
