Poole shooting star Brady Kurtz is on his way back to Wimborne Road for 2018 and Pirates owner Matt Ford insists his return was “never in doubt.”
The Aussie comes in on an 8.08 average – meaning Pirates cannot sign any more riders with an 8.00-plus figure.
He looks set to join Polish racer Kacper Woryna, who Ford announced his intentions to recruit in August, although he says a deal is yet to be finalised.
Kurtz starts what will be his third straight year with the club after making impressive progress in 2017, and Ford has plenty of faith in the FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship finalist and 2016 Australian champion.
He said: “I couldn’t be happier that Brady is returning to Poole to race in such an important season for the club.
“It was never in doubt that I would offer Brady a place in the team and I hope he is here for many more years to come. He’s extremely easy to deal with and gets along superbly with the rest of the team.
“His signing is a real statement of intent that this club is quickly overcoming the disappointment of last season and looking to secure an 10th top-flight title in what is a milestone year for us.”
