LAMBERT TO SIT OUT BRITISH LEAGUES?

Great Britain racer Robert Lambert has dropped a huge bombshell on King’s Lynn’s 2018 plans after suggesting he won’t be racing in the UK.

Great Britain racer Robert Lambert has dropped a huge bombshell on King’s Lynn’s 2018 plans after suggesting he won’t be racing in the UK.

The Norfolk racer has become a key player at the Adrian Flux Arena since making his top-flight debut with the Stars in 2014.

But he made no secret of the fact he wanted to see things improve at the club after their disastrous 2017 season, which saw them finish second from bottom of the SGB Premiership table.

Stars’ fortunes nose-dived after they axed Chris Holder and Troy Batchelor following a dispute over track conditions in their loss at home to Poole in July.

Lambert was widely expected to be part of their 2018 plans, as well as double up in the SGB Championship.

But posting on Facebook this afternoon, he wrote: “Looking at the moment that I won't be racing in the UK in 2018. Full press release will be in the next two weeks. Please comment your thoughts.”

It’s unclear if Lambert has attempted to leave King’s Lynn on loan, but Stars would have first call on his services as a club asset.

The British Under-21 champion is set to race for Lublin in the Polish First Division as well as Rospiggarna in the Swedish Elitserien.
