Polish star Patryk Dudek defied the pain of his Warsaw crash, scoring nine paid 13 as Poland beat 59-31 Denmark in a Czestochowa challenge on Sunday.

The world No.2 limped out of PGE Narodowy on Saturday following an awkward fall when he was caught by Artem Laguta going into the first turn of heat 12. But Dudek shook that off to play his part in a comprehensive triumph for the Poles, with BOLL Warsaw SGP runner-up Maciej Janowski leading the way on 12 paid 14, while Bartosz Zmarzlik bagged 10 paid 11.

Former world No.2 Jaroslaw Hampel and Warsaw reserve Maksym Drabik tallied 10 each and Piotr Pawlicki added eight paid nine.

Speaking on Saturday night, Dudek was unconcerned about his knock and vowed to bounce back at the ANLAS Czech SGP in Prague on May 26.

He said: “Sometimes after crashing, you hurt and my right leg is hurting, but I think it will be okay.”

Reflecting on an SGP which saw him exit at the semi stages with a solid 10 points, Dudek added: “In a few heats on Saturday, I was nervous, but when I won a heat, I felt very good.

“I was very close to the final, but hopefully I get there in Prague. The starts were most important in Warsaw. They were very important. I hope it will be better next time.”

While the Poles starred on home shale, it was a difficult day for the Danes, aside from Leon Madsen, who kept the scores respectable with 12 points.

Danish champion Niels-Kristian Iversen ended a weekend to forget with four, along with Michael Jepsen Jensen. Mikkel Michelsen recorded six, Peter Kildemand bagged only five and Andreas Lyager failed to score.
