ZAGAR OUT OF KRSKO SGP

Home hero Matej Zagar misses AZTORIN Slovenian FIM Speedway Grand Prix due to injury.

06 / 09 / 2018, 09:30

Slovenian icon Matej Zagar has withdrawn from the AZTORIN Slovenian FIM Speedway Grand Prix this Saturday after suffering an injury in Poland.

The Ljubljana-born ace crashed with Szymon Wozniak in Czestochowa’s PGE Ekstraliga play-off semi-final, first leg at home to Gorzow on Sunday and took no further part in the meeting.

He has been forced to admit defeat in his efforts to recover in time for Krsko and his absence comes as a huge blow to his qualification hopes, with Zagar just four points off the top-eight spot needed to earn a place in SGP 2019.

The 17-time Slovenian champion’s place in the meeting is taken by SGP first reserve Niels-Kristian Iversen.

We wish Matej a speedy recovery.
