EKSTRALIGA | MICHELSEN SIGNS AS LUBLIN NAME SQUAD

Mikkel Michelsen’s switch to Lublin has been confirmed after the newly-promoted PGE Ekstraliga outfit unveiled their 2019 squad.

Danish racer Mikkel Michelsen’s switch to Lublin has been confirmed after the newly-promoted PGE Ekstraliga outfit unveiled their 2019 squad.

The SGP third reserve announced his departure from Gdansk and teams up with British champion Robert Lambert and former world No.2 Andreas Jonsson at his new club.

They join forces with the likes of Grzegorz Zengota, who makes the move from Zielona Gora, plus Dawid Lampart and Pawel Miesiac.

Wiktor Lampart, Wiktor Trofimow, Kacper Gosik, Emil Peron and Maciej Kuromonow have been named as Lublin’s junior riders, eligible to occupy the reserve berths.

Lublin have been linked with a number of current and former SGP stars, including Martin Vaculik and Nicki Pedersen. Despite reports they didn’t lack the funds to attract big names, they have faced an uphill battle to add extra firepower to their side.

There have even been suggestions the club will look to draft in Russian international Grigorii Laguta when his two-year drug ban ends in the spring, although First Division side Rybnik hope to complete his signature after his suspension played a key role in their relegation in 2017.
