Swedish star Antonio Lindback has extended his contract with Elitserien runners-up Indianerna into 2012.

The Rio Rocket played a huge role in the Kumla club topping this year’s table convincingly. But a rock-solid Indians team slipped when it mattered most and lost to Piraterna in the play-off final.

The SGP star will hope to help his side go one better next term and he will be joined in Kumla by Polish racer Piotr Protasiewicz, Finnish international Joonas Kylmakorpi and Mathias Thornblom.

Meanwhile, former Grand Prix man Rune Holta is close to rejoining his old club Valsarna for next year.

The 38-year-old endured a nightmare campaign in the World Championship, Sweden and Poland this year and this has resulted in him losing his spot at Malilla outfit Dackarna.

While Holta’s was hopeful the team would be attracted by his lower avaerage, Dackarna opted to sign Darcy Ward and Jonas Davidsson instead, which has also left their long-serving Danish racer Hans Andersen’s future at the G&B Arena in the balance.

But three-time Speedway World Cup winner Holta is now in talks with Valsarna, who are based in Hagfors – just a couple of hours from his native Norway.

He is also set for a switch to Polish club Tarnow to join what will reportedly be a star-studded team for 2012. World champion Greg Hancock and local boy Janusz Kolodziej are tipped to sign deals with the Swallows, along with Martin Vaculik and Leon Madsen.

Polish international Grzegorz Walasek is much closer to finalising his clubs for 2012, having agreed terms with Hammarby in Sweden.

The ex-Grand Prix regular proved a powerful spearhead for the Stockholm team along with 2010 world champion Tomasz Gollob this term and it’s no surprise the club wanted to keep him on board.

Walasek is also said to have agreed terms with Ekstraliga outfit Rzeszow for next season. He moves from newly-promoted Bydgoszcz and joins Jason Crump and Lee Richardson in the side.
