Team Great Britain star Chris Harris may still land a Polish Ekstraliga job for 2012 after Czestochowa confirmed they were interested in recruiting the Cornishman.

Bomber was forced out of Rzeszow this winter following the introduction of a rule limiting Ekstraliga clubs to just one Grand Prix rider for next year.

Australian legend Jason Crump was already under contract at Rzeszow and eight of the 10 top flight teams have now announced deals with an SGP regular.

Wroclaw have been hotly tipped to add Freddie Lindgren to their team, leaving Czestochowa as Harris’ sole option if he is to continue competing in world speedway’s strongest domestic league.

These moves would leave world No.7 Kenneth Bjerre without an Ekstraliga team, while Antonio Lindback, Bjarne Pedersen, Peter Ljung and Hans Andersen already have deals in the First Division.

Speculation has been rife in Poland that Harris has signed for Czestochowa along with former World Under-21 champion Robert Miskowiak.

But the club denied this on their official website and admit they are still seeking a licence to race in the Ekstraliga after their application was turned down due to their debts to this year's team.

A statement read: “On Thursday one of the speedway news websites gave information about an agreement between Czestochowa and Chris Harris and Robert Miskowiak over contract terms.

“Both riders are of interest to the club but have not yet signed a contract to race in our colours next season. At present, the most important goal for the club is to obtain a license to race in the 2012 Ekstraliga season.

“We have appealed to the PZM and the decision will be made by the end of this year. We will not rest, though, and will negotiate with riders who would strengthen the ranks of our team.”

Czestochowa already have deals with Russian international Grigory Laguta, Daniel Nermark and Grzegorz Zengota in place.
