Danish ace Leon Madsen celebrated his three-year Czestochowa contract extension in style as Lions ended their three-match run without a win.

The SGP newcomer will be staying in green and white until the end of 2022, and he raced to 12 paid 13 points as Czestochowa defeated visitors Zielona Gora 51-39 in the PGE Ekstraliga on Sunday.

It was a vital result for the Lions as they bagged the bonus point, ensuring they stay above Gorzow and retain fourth spot in the table.

Swedish star Freddie Lindgren weighed in with 11 paid 12 points, while Pawel Przedpelski notched nine paid 10. Matej Zagar scored three.

Triple world champion Nicki Pedersen topped the Zielona Gora scorechart on 10 paid 11, with Patryk Dudek picking up nine paid 10 and Martin Vaculik adding eight points.

In the day’s other meeting, World Championship leader Bartosz Zmarzlik racked up 11 paid 12 as Gorzow triumphed 49-41 at home to Torun.

Zmarzlik’s side were put under pressure by a huge performance from 2017 world champion Jason Doyle, who powered to 16 points from six rides for the visitors. He was well supported by 11 paid 12 from Niels-Kristian Iversen.
