STRETCHED LIGAMENTS FOR MADSEN

Danish racer Leon Madsen has confirmed he suffered “stretched ligaments” in his right leg as he helped Czestochowa reach the PGE Ekstraliga play-offs on Friday night.

The FIM Speedway Grand Prix series frontrunner tangled with Lions team mate Pawel Przedpelski after being taken wide by Grudziadz rider Kenneth Bjerre on the first turn in heat one.

After being excluded and then checked over by the meeting doctor, Madsen bounced back to go unbeaten in his final four races, scoring 11 paid 12 points. The Vejle-born racer is already nursing a back injury and hailed the Czestochowa medical team for helping him overcome his latest knock.

Luckily nothing broken, ‘only’ stretched ligaments and a lot of pain.

Posting on Instagram, he wrote: “What a tough night. Had to really dig deep to fight back from that crash with the pain I suffered. I want to say big thanks to our two doctors from Czestochowa Natasza and Marek for helping me once again. Luckily nothing broken, ‘only’ stretched ligaments and a lot of pain.”
