Heading to this weekend’s Scandinavian FIM Speedway Grand Prix in Malilla? Here’s everything you need to know for a great weekend of racing.

The world’s top riders return to the G&B Arena for the 14th time – and one of the world’s finest race tracks always delivers when it comes to epic action.

Sweden’s world No.3 Freddie Lindgren will be flying the flag for the home nation, while new Swedish champion Jacob Thorssell lines up on his Swedish Elitserien home track, where he races for Dackarna.

He’s joined by his club team mates Patryk Dudek and Maciej Janowski, who will be determined to make the most of their local knowledge, which could be vital in one of the tightest World Championships in years.

With Bartosz Zmarzlik, Emil Sayfutdinov and Leon Madsen all tied on 61 points at the top and 2018 Malilla finalist Martin Vaculik just two points behind on 59, the race for gold is hotting up nicely.

So make sure you’re trackside in Malilla this Saturday – here’s everything you need to know ahead of the Scandinavian SGP.

 

TICKETS

Tickets will be available to buy online up until an hour before racing (18:00).

They are also available at the G&B Arena on Friday 16:30 - 20:00 and Saturday 13:00 - 20:00.

 

STADIUM ADDRESS: G&B Arena, Malilla Motorbana 1, 570 82 Malilla, Sweden.

 

GETTING THERE

TRAIN: The nearest railway station is Hultsfred – 10km from the G&B Arena. Services run between Hultsfred and Stockholm.

Trains from Hultsfred to Nassjo are also available, where it is possible to change for services to Gothenburg and Malmo.

 

BY CAR:

There is plenty of parking available at the G&B Arena, which is

290km from Gothenburg, 330km from Stockholm, 320km from Malmo and 220km from Karlskrona.

From Karlskrona: Take road E22 to Alem for about 110km and then road 34 to Malilla for around 70km.

From Stockholm: Pick up road E4 to Linkoping for about 200km and then road 34 to Malilla for around 130km.

From Malmo: Take road E22 (23) towards Vaxjo. Travel from Vaxjo to Aseda for about 50km and then take road 138 to Malilla for about 40km.

From Gothenburg: Pick up road 40 to Jonkoping for about 150km, road 31 to Vetlanda for around 80km and finally road 127 to Malilla for 50km.

 

BY AIR: The nearest airports are Kalmar – 10km away – and Vaxjo, which is 90km away. But Gothenburg is the nearest major airport at 270km away.

17:30 – Free practice

19:45 (approx.) – Official draw

 

FRIDAY ENTERTAINMENT:

Get the SGP party started early!

Head over to Tors Plan in the town of Hultsfred to soak up the party vibes this Friday between 19:00 and 00:00.

For those camping at the stadium, a bus will run from the arena at 19:50 and back at 00:15.

This year’s entertainment line-up includes live music from local band The Vanjas and DJ tunes on the main stage.

Saturday, August 17 - Race Day

14:00 – Fanzone opens with local food and beverages available for purchase, entertainment for all ages and merchandise stands.

17:00 – Stadium opens

17:10 – Official autograph session with Freddie Lindgren, Patryk Dudek, Janusz Kolodziej and Jacob Thorssell.

18:48 – Parade

18:49 – Opening ceremony

19:04 – 1st heat of the 2019 Scandinavian FIM Speedway Grand Prix

22:00 – Live music in the fanzone area

23:00 (approx.) – Stadium closes

2:00 – Fanzone closes
