New world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik celebrated lifting the sport’s biggest prize by roaring to a 15-point maximum as Gorzow shored up their place in the PGE Ekstraliga.
The men in yellow and blue won the first leg of their promotion/relegation play-off with First Division runners-up Ostrow 60-30 at the Edward Jancarz Stadium on Sunday.
Racing in his first meeting as world champion, Zmarzlik was in no mood to back off the gas as he delivered another heroic display for his club.
He was brilliantly backed up by 11 paid 13 points from former world No.2 Krzysztof Kasprzak and Anders Thomsen.
Danish racer Nicolai Klindt responded with 11 paid 12 for Ostrow, while former SGP rider Grzegorz Walasek bagged 11.
The second leg takes place in Ostrow next Sunday.
