ELITSERIEN | ANTONIO BACK IN AVESTA

Swedish SGP star Antonio Lindback will continue his Elitserien career with boyhood club Masarna for 2020.

09 / 10 / 2019, 12:18

Swedish SGP star Antonio Lindback will continue his Elitserien career with boyhood club Masarna for 2020.

The Rio Rocket – born in Brazil but raised in Sweden – grew up in Avesta and took his first laps there. Now he’s club captain and Masarna has confirmed he will lead them into action again.

He’s joined by French international David Bellego, Swedish duo Kim Nilsson and Philip Hellstrom-Bangs and Oskar Fajfer of Poland.

Elsewhere, beaten play-off finalists Dackarna have wasted no time in snapping up SGP racer Maciej Janowski for a fifth straight season. He’s joined in the Malilla side by another long-serving Polish star Patryk Dudek, who has represented the club since 2012.

Dackarna’s team is also strengthened by the presence of two of Sweden’s top emerging stars in Jacob Thorssell and Oliver Berntzon.

Vastervik have recruited SGP third reserve Bartosz Smektala, along with Australia’s Jack Holder after both impressed in 2019. Local star Anton Karlsson is also back for 2020.

But the club will be without triple world champion Nicki Pedersen, with Vastervik confirming he will be on the move next year.

Rospiggarna have snapped up Great Britain international Dan Bewley, as he bids to establish himself in the Elitserien.

And Indianerna have retained Danish international Kenneth Bjerre, who links up with 2012 world champion Chris Holder and Ludvig Lindgren once again. The Kumla team will be without Tai Woffinden, who has opted not to race in Sweden next year.
