The 2020 Betard Wroclaw FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland returns to the iconic Olympic Stadium on August 1.

The 2020 Betard Wroclaw FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland returns to the iconic Olympic Stadium on August 1.

The SGP World Championship roared back into the city for the first time since 2007 last year – and it was an unforgettable night as Bartosz Zmarzlik stormed to victory on his way to becoming Poland’s third world champion.

Tickets sold out in 26 hours and fans were treated to possibly one of the greatest SGP events witnessed since the series launched with its very first round at Wroclaw’s Olympic Stadium in May 1995.

We set the bar high, but I promise we won’t just rest on our laurels. We’ll make every effort to make the 2020 Betard Wroclaw FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland at the Olympic Stadium at least as interesting a spectacle as last year with many additional attractions for fans.

Andrzej Rusko

With Zmarzlik defending his world title; Wroclaw’s local hero Maciej Janowski going for glory on home shale; Patryk Dudek also flying the Polish flag, and Tai Woffinden lining up on his PGE Ekstraliga home track, it’s set to be one of SGP 2020’s most hotly-anticipated nights.

Andrzej Rusko, WTS president, said: “I'm very glad that we delivered such big emotions for the fans, and riders had opportunity to present their best riding skills last summer.

“After the event we got a number of very favorable reviews from fans but also from the FIM and BSI Speedway.

“We set the bar high, but I promise we won’t just rest on our laurels. We’ll make every effort to make the 2020 Betard Wroclaw FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland at the Olympic Stadium at least as interesting a spectacle as last year with many additional attractions for fans.”

BSI Speedway managing director Steve Gould said: “It was a truly incredible night of racing in Wroclaw this year, with fans at the Olympic Stadium and watching at home treated to something extra special. The standard of racing and passing was extraordinary.

“The city and venue have a wonderful history in our sport, so it’s not only great to be back in Wroclaw, but also to return in such exciting style.

“We thank our partners at the club and in the city for helping us to deliver such an epic night of action this year and we look forward to more of the same on August 1.”

Tickets for the Betard Wroclaw SGP will go on sale in due course.
