SGP first reserve Martin Smolinski will stay in the Swedish Elitserien for 2020 after extending his contract with Masarna.

The German ace is back in Avesta, where he is joined by the likes of hometown hero Antonio Lindback and former Australian champion Rohan Tungate.

The 2018 World Longtrack champion is looking forward to competing in the Elitserien for a second straight season.

I am looking forward to it and I am very happy to be back at Masarna Speedway. Smolinski is coming back to Sweden – here we go!

Speaking in a video on his official Facebook page, he said: “I have signed again for one of the best teams in Sweden. I will come over to Sweden on Tuesday to meet some sponsors and we can talk about the 2020 season.

“I think we have a very good line-up this year with Lindback and Rohan Tungate and the Swedish boys who are back.

“I am looking forward to it and I am very happy to be back at Masarna Speedway. Smolinski is coming back to Sweden – here we go!”

Elsewhere, Swedish international Linus Sundstrom has signed a two-year contract with Vastervik after leaving Piraterna.

Sundstrom is set to be fit for the 2020 season, despite suffering a badly broken leg and arm in a Polish meeting in Gdansk last month.

He joins the likes of Jason Doyle, Bartosz Smektala and Jack Holder in the side. And Sundstrom believes a change of scenery will help him realise his potential on the shale.

He told the club’s official website: "Getting to represent Västervik speedway 2020 and 2021 feels incredibly exciting and motivating.

“After a few tough seasons, I'm sure the club, the track, the team management and my new team mates will give me a push in the right direction to come back up to the level I know I can reach.

“Going to such a well-managed club like Västervik feels safe and the club's goals are high, which I like. This new challenge is very motivating and will help me a lot through my long rehab period.”
