Denmark’s biggest speedway event is back at Vojens Speedway Center on September 12.

The Danish FIM Speedway Grand Prix sponsored by ECCO returned to the legendary venue last September, with Bartosz Zmarzlik topping the podium on his way to lifting the SGP World Championship.

Vojens Speedway Center boss Jacob Olsen is already looking forward to the return of SGP action in 2020.

He said: “We learned a lot in the first season. It is a definite advantage that we already know the date of next year's SGP.

“It gives us time to improve the stadium conditions for the fans and build up the event with sponsors.

“In 2020, we will also have our SES team - Southern Jutland Elite Speedway – racing in the Danish league. The upcoming league matches will give us even more knowhow when it comes to handling great international events.”

In 2020, world No.2 Leon Madsen and seven-time Danish champion Niels-Kristian Iversen will fly the Danish flag in the SGP series, while Mikkel Michelsen and Anders Thomsen are listed as series reserves.

At the same time, the worldwide Southern Jutland Company ECCO Shoes has extended its sponsorship agreement with the Vojens Speedway Center for the Danish SGP.

Olsen added: “We are pleased that the strong collaboration with ECCO will continue. It also confirms that we delivered a solid product in 2019.”

From ECCO headquarters in Bredebro, sponsor and event manager Vivi Okholm was pleased with the positive co-operation around the Danish SGP.

She said: “It was great success in September this year. Both the media coverage and the large audiences reinforce the synergy between quality footwear and world-class speedway.”
