VACULIK EYES LONG FALUBAZ STAY

Slovak star Martin Vaculik admits he would love an extended stay at Zielona Gora as he returns for 2020.

Slovak star Martin Vaculik admits he would love an extended stay at Zielona Gora as he returns for 2020.

The Zarnovica-born ace raced into the FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Championship’s top eight for the first time, finishing fifth in the best year of his career to date.

Vaculik made a surprise move to Falubaz from the club’s arch-rivals Gorzow and it has paid dividends as he finished fourth on the PGE Ekstraliga average charts with a 2.319-points-per-race average.

I feel amazing in Zielona Gora. For sure this is a place where I would like to stay for longer.

Martin Vaculik

Aside from some meetings in the Czech top flight for hometown team Zarnovica, Vaculik has opted to focus on Falubaz’s fixtures and his SGP commitments.

He believes the club is bringing out his best form and he’s keen to enjoy a lengthy spell in Zielona Gora colours, where he is joined by the likes of Patryk Dudek, Piotr Protasiewicz and Antonio Lindback.

He told Falubaz.com: “I feel amazing in Zielona Gora. For sure this is a place where I would like to stay for longer.

“If the club wishes me to do so, there is nothing on my part preventing me from getting involved with Falubaz for a long time.”

Vaculik feels he settled in at the club rapidly as he played his part in taking the team to second place in the pre-play-off table.

He said: “It was a great season for me. I am very happy that I acclimatised so quickly at Falubaz. It's a great place for a speedway rider who wants to grow like me. It is great for me that I am part of the Zielona Gora team.

“I am pleased with my individual results. However, what counts in the PGE Ekstraliga is what the team achieves, and I want to contribute with good rides.

“I want my team to do as well as possible and win matches thanks to my good performances. This is my goal in the PGE Ekstraliga.”
