SCUNTHORPE STAGES BEN FUND BONANZA

Scunthorpe’s Eddie Wright Raceway will stage the 2020 Ben Fund Bonanza on Saturday, March 14 (2pm) in aid of the sport’s injured stars.

Scunthorpe’s Eddie Wright Raceway will stage the 2020 Ben Fund Bonanza on Saturday, March 14 (2pm) in aid of the sport’s injured stars.

The meeting raises vital cash for the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund – a charity that supports riders temporarily or permanently sidelined by injuries sustained on the track.

The line-up is set to be announced in the coming weeks, but Ben Fund boss Paul Ackroyd is pleased to be taking the first meeting of the British season to Scunthorpe – home town of SGP icon Tai Woffinden – for a second time.

He said: “We are delighted to be back at Scunthorpe for the 11th staging of this event. It was a great success last time it was held there back in 2011 and we’re hoping for more of the same this year.

“We would also like to apologise for the delay in the announcement. This was something beyond our control and we’re pleased to finally have everything in place.

“With the event being held just before the season starts, it provides an ideal time for fans to show their support for the fund and get ready for another action-packed season up and down the country.”
