Swedish champion Jacob Thorssell has agreed terms to race a shortened Elitserien season for Dackarna.

The Atvidaberg-born racer recently retained his national title in Malilla and returns to action for the club when they launch their season on August 11. He will split his time between Malilla and Gdansk, where he races in the Polish First Division.

Thorssell teams up with Hans Andersen, who returns to Malilla for what will be his 16th season there. The 39-year-old has been named skipper of the side and will also compete for Lodz in Poland and Vojens if and when the Danish Speedway League launches later this month.

Danish racer Frederik Jakobsen and Sweden’s Oliver Berntzon are also in the Dackarna side. They are joined by local riders Joel Kling, Avon Van Dyck and Theo Johansson.

Elsewhere, Danish riders Mikkel Bech Jensen, Mads Hansen and Marcus Birkemose have joined the Vastervik squad. But Polish rider Krzysztof Buczkowski has now been ruled out.
