Aussie star Jack Holder has enjoyed teaming up with world champ Bartosz Zmarzlik at Gorzow, admitting “it’s better racing in the same team as him than against him.”

Holder, signed as a guest from Torun, sat out the club’s trip to Leszno on Friday after the Gorzow management reportedly opted to test out their regular riders in a meeting the club was widely expected to lose.

Bartosz has been an awesome help ever since I signed for Gorzow. I had a practice there a couple of days before the first meeting and he came down and showed the lines to take and what he runs around there.

They went down 55-35 and it would be a major surprise if Holder wasn’t restored to the side for next Sunday’s match with Lublin.

After hitting red-hot form in his PGE Ekstraliga matches this year, he looks set to play a vital role in their survival hopes.

Having joined Gorzow midway through the season, the Aussie Championship runner-up was delighted to have been given plenty of help settling in by a man who rides the Edward Jancarz Stadium track best.

Holder admits Zmarzlik has been a great help since they teamed up at the club. He said: “It’s awesome to be in a team with him. He’s quite an entertaining rider as we all know. He’s the world champ at the moment. That’s someone you want to learn from.

“I speak with him a lot during the meetings and compare what he’s running and what I’m running to see where we’re at.

“He’s a safe rider and he’s everywhere! He’s on the inside and the outside. It’s better racing in the same team as him than against him.

“Bartosz has been an awesome help ever since I signed for Gorzow. I had a practice there a couple of days before the first meeting and he came down and showed the lines to take and what he runs around there. I got the right setup for the meeting. He has been a good help so far. Let’s hope it continues.”
