Australian star Chris Holder will don a skull and crossbones race jacket in Sweden next year after joining world champion Greg Hancock at Piraterna for 2012.
The Poole Pirates hotshot’s future at his British club remains uncertain as Elite League bosses deliberate over whether teams can sign more than one rider with an average over 8.00.
But the Swedish Pirates wasted no time in snapping him up following his former club Lejonen’s relegation to the Allsvenskan League.
Holder will relish the prospect of racing alongside his boyhood hero Hancock, as well as Linus Sundstrom and Polish brothers Przemyslaw and Piotr Pawlicki.
The Sydneysider has also penned a three-year deal with Polish Ekstraliga outfit Torun, along with fellow countryman Ryan Sullivan and Polish international Adrian Miedzinski.
Meanwhile, Dackarna’s bid to bounce back from a nightmare 2011 campaign has been given a massive lift after they recruited two-time World Under-21 champion Darcy Ward.
The SGP wild card pick is joined by Jonas Davidsson at the Malilla club after the Swedish international was unable to agree terms with Piraterna. They link up with world No.2 Andreas Jonsson and Freddie Lindgren, who has penned a new two-year contract.
