Former FIM Speedway Grand Prix star Przemyslaw Pawlicki will team up with brother Piotr in Sweden as they spearhead champions Masarna’s Bauhaus Elitserien title defence.
Przemek was part of the club’s championship-winning side last season after his PGE Ekstraliga campaign with Grudziadz ended early, with the Polish outfit falling short of the play-offs.
The 2017 GP Challenge winner is a regular in the Swedish league and also represented Masarna from 2016 to 2018.
Przemek endured a difficult 2020 season in Poland, which left him battling to hang on to his spot in the Grudziadz side. But the PGE Ekstraliga team has recalled him for this year and the SGP 2018 rider will hope some regular action in Sweden boosts his performances in both leagues.
The deal reunites the Pawlicki brothers, who grew up together at Leszno, before Przemek made the switch to Grudziadz with Piotr remaining with their hometown club, playing a key role in four straight PGE Ekstraliga title wins.
They link up with the likes of former SGP star Martin Smolinski and French international David Bellego at Masarna – a club seeking to replace local hero Antonio Lindback following his retirement at the end of last season.
Masarna have also seen another 2020 title winner Nicki Pedersen depart as Polish rules limit the Grudziadz star to racing in one other national league, with the triple world champion set to compete for Holsted in Denmark.
