Smederna boss Jerker Eriksson backed Polish racer Krzysztof Buczkowski to give “everything and a little more” as he completes the Eskilstuna outfit’s squad for 2021.
The hard-charging Pole returns to the former Swedish champions for the first time since 2018 after spending the past two seasons at Vastervik.
He endured a tough 2020 season with Grudziadz in the PGE Ekstraliga, where he is set to race for Lublin this year.
But Eriksson is backing him to hit top form in Blacksmiths colours. He told the club’s website: “Krzysztof will be the last man in our squad for 2021. He has been with us in Smederna before and we know what we get from the good Buczek, who always gives everything and a little more.
“He is of the toughest riders in the league and he has a heart for the Blacksmiths, and that's important to us. That's how we build the team. We find those who are willing to give that little extra when needed. A Krzysztof Buczkowski in shape is a great asset.
"We feel very satisfied with the group we have put together. Now it's up to us to get the most out of the team.”
Buczkowski joins the likes of SGP first reserve Aleksandr Loktaev, Grigorii Laguta, Gleb Chugunov, Michael Jepsen Jensen, Andzejs Lebedevs and Pontus Aspgren in a rock-solid squad.
The Polish international said: “It will be fun to ride in the Blacksmith vest again. Now it is a new chapter and new challenges. I hope to be able to contribute many points in the fight for Swedish Championship gold.”
