World Longtrack champion Lukas Fienhage has signed for Swedish side Piraterna for 2021.

The 21-year-old triumphed in last year’s shortened World Longtrack series and will be keen to bring that form into the Bauhaus Elitserien.

He previously represented his country in the 2019 Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations Final and finished fifth in last year’s FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship Final in Pardubice.

He joins the likes of Peter Kildemand, Adam Ellis and Tomas H Jonasson in Motala this year.

Fienhage told the club’s website: “I am happy to be a part of the Pirates, and hope for many heats and points for me and the team.”

Team manager Daniel Davidsson added: “It will be fun to work with a new name, a younger guy on the way up in his career.”

Meanwhile, former World Under-21 finalist Patrick Hansen is heading to Elitserien champions Masarna.

The 22-year-old made three appearances for the Avesta outfit during the shortened 2020 season and returns to join the likes of Martin Smolinski and brothers Przemyslaw and Piotr Pawlicki in the side.

Hansen will also line up for Polish First Division club Ostrow and Grindsted in his homeland.
