Great Britain racer Tai Woffinden is set for a stint on the sidelines after suffering a broken shoulder in Wroclaw’s PGE Ekstraliga loss at Grudziadz on Friday.

The triple world champion got caught up with home rider Przemyslaw Pawlicki going into the first turn of heat three. While the crash appeared to happen in near slow-motion, Woffinden hit the deck hard and took no further part in the meeting.

Scans confirmed Woffinden suffered the fracture, but it is currently unclear how long the former Wolverhampton man will be out of action.

Posting on Instagram, he wrote: “Cheers for all the love! Broken shoulder. See you all soon.”

We wish Tai a speedy recovery.
