POLISH CLUBS SET TO WELCOME FANS BACK

Poland’s PGE Ekstraliga clubs are set to welcome a limited number of fans back to stadiums from May 15.

28 / 04 / 2021, 21:02

Poland’s PGE Ekstraliga clubs are set to welcome a limited number of fans back to stadiums from May 15.

Polish authorities have announced the return of supporters to sports events, which comes just two days before fans will be allowed back into UK stadiums on Monday, May 17.

Clubs in Poland can open their venues up to 25 percent of stadium capacity, which is the same limit that was imposed shortly after the 2020 season got underway, before the bar was raised to 50 percent during the summer.

Following the decision, PGE Ekstraliga bosses immediately pushed two meetings scheduled for Friday, May 14 back 24 hours.

Leszno take on Zielona Gora and Grudziadz face Lublin on Saturday, May 15. The fixtures between Torun and Czestochowa and Wroclaw and Gorzow remain on Sunday, May 16.

The next two rounds of meetings remain behind closed doors.
