Four-time Polish champion Janusz Kolodziej stepped up his quest for national title No.5 after reeling off a 15-point maximum to win his Polish Championship Semi-Final in Krosno on Wednesday.

The former Czech SGP winner cruised into the Final, which takes place on his home track Leszno on July 11, after going unbeaten over five rides.

Tobiasz Musielak claimed second place on the score chart to progress on 13 points, while Mateusz Szczepaniak and Grzegorz Walasek made it on 11 each.

Former world No.2 Jaroslaw Hampel and young gun Wiktor Lampart both edged through on 10, while Czestochowa star Kacper Woryna won a run-off for a reserve spot, beating Krzysztof Buczkowski and Rafal Karczmarz after they tied on eight points.

In-form Pawel Przedpelski booked his place in Leszno after triumphing at the other semi-final in Gniezno on 14 points.

Former SGP star Piotr Pawlicki was second on 12, while Oskar Fajfer qualified on 11 and former champion Szymon Wozniak made the cut on nine.

A run-off was needed to decide the final three qualifiers after four riders tied on eight points. Czestochowa shooting star Jakub Miskowiak progressed with a victory, while Marcin Nowak in second and Przemyslaw Pawlicki also made it through. Norbert Kosciuch had to settle for the reserve spot.

But the surprise of the night came with Patryk Dudek exiting the competition after finishing on just six points.

World champion Bartosz Zmarzlik, Maciej Janowski and Krzysztof Kasprzak are all seeded into the Final as full-time SGP riders.
