World champion Bartosz Zmarzlik raced to a sensational 16 points for Gorzow, but it was not enough to save them from a 46-43 PGE Ekstraliga loss at Lublin on Sunday.

The visitors bagged the bonus point 95-84 on aggregate to hold on to second spot in the standings, but they were denied victory on the night by Grigorii Laguta. The Lublin man got the better of SGP duo Zmarzlik and Martin Vaculik in heat 15 to share the race 3-3 and guarantee a huge home win that keeps the Goats firmly in the play-off mix in third.

Polish young gun Dominik Kubera was Lublin’s top scorer in a solid team performance on nine paid 10, while Laguta notched nine and Jaroslaw Hampel added eight paid nine, including a win over Zmarzlik.

Bartek was backed up by 10 paid 11 from Vaculik, with their SGP rival Anders Thomsen adding eight.
