NILSSON & ANDERSSON COMPLETE MALILLA LINE-UP

Swedish duo Kim Nilsson and Joel Andersson have been named as track reserves for the Swedish FIM Speedway Grand Prix in Malilla on August 14

22 / 07 / 2021, 10:00

Swedish duo Kim Nilsson and Joel Andersson have been named as track reserves for the Swedish FIM Speedway Grand Prix in Malilla on August 14.

The riders will be called into action if any of the main 16-man field are forced out of a race due to injury, illness or other reasons or suffer disqualification for a starting offence.

Nilsson, who lines up at No.17, is enjoying a strong season in his homeland with Bauhaus Elitserien club Rospiggarna. He raced to fourth place in the Swedish Championship Final in Malilla on July 13.

The 31-year-old is no stranger to the World Championship, having made five previous SGP appearances – including four at Stockholm’s Friends Arena.

Andersson, 25, dons the No.18 race jacket and would make his SGP debut if he takes to the track. He races for Indianerna in the Bauhaus Elitserien.

The pair are joined in the meeting by home heroes Fredrik Lindgren, Oliver Berntzon and wild card Pontus Aspgren, who earned the No.16 race jacket by finishing second to Lindgren in the Swedish Final.
